Rengigül Ural (1957, İstanbul)
Book author, research writer, illustrator, publisher

She was educated at London Trinity House School, London Nautical, Kennington College, A.Ü. Dil ve Tarih Coğrafya Fakültesi, Hacettepe Üniversitesi and graduated at Boğaziçi University, Department of Tourism Administration in 1979. Her thesis topics focus on “2nd International Balkan Flora and Vegetation Problems Symposium” and “History of Tourism”.

She started her professional career as the Assistant Director of Public Relations, Publicity and Documentation Department at İstanbul University, and as the Editorial Director of the İstanbul University Bulletin. In 1981, she coordinated the Turkish Week event titled “Atatürk: Tradizione e Cultura” for “Centennial of Atatürk’s birth” with Prof. Dr. Anna Masala in Rome by the courtesy of the Republic of Turkey Prime Ministry, since 1981 was declared by UNESCO to be the Atatürk Year in the world. While working in the private sector (Sandoz and Koç Holding; 1984-2019), she also documented one of the first inventories of the “ Corporate Art Collections”.

She has practiced “Photographic Literature” with the knowledge that she had acquired from her husband, Ersin Ural; and attended “Creative Writing” courses by Prof. Dr. Murat Gülsoy at Boğaziçi University. She continues to draw, which she started with her lecturer, Ord. Prof. Dr. Ekrem Akurgal, and aims to develop her style by blending it with the botanical knowledge and love of nature inherited from her father, Prof Dr. Faik Yaltırık.

She established RE Books Arts Publishing House in 2017. Rengigül Ural Private Library belongs to RE Books Arts Publishing House, and it's under the care of her ownership. She is keeping her family values (books, photos, family heirlooms...) and also collecting for the next generation. She publishes her drawings as postcards and bookmarks for the benefit of Unicef and TEGV.
